UNS S32760 belongs to super duplex stainless steel, which is one level higher than ordinary 2205. Tungsten and copper are added into it, which has better resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion and higher strength than standard dual-phase steel.

This material is generally used in harsh working conditions, such as seawater environment, high chloride ion medium, or occasions where the medium itself is very corrosive. Offshore platforms, petrochemical equipment and seawater desalination systems are widely used.

  Outstanding Resistance to Chloride Corrosion

This performance is mainly supported by the composition: high chromium and molybdenum, plus tungsten and copper. Its corrosion resistance is better than that of conventional duplex steel and austenitic stainless steel in seawater, chlorine-containing process media and marine atmospheric environment.

  High Mechanical Strength for Heavy-Duty Components

The duplex microstructure gives S32760 much higher strength than austenitic stainless steels.

Typical minimum mechanical properties include:

• Yield Strength: ≥550 MPa
• Tensile Strength: ≥750 MPa

This allows engineers to reduce component cross-sections while maintaining the required load capacity, making it suitable for valve stems, shafts, connectors, and structural fasteners.

  Enhanced Alloy Composition

Ordinary dual-phase steel is not easy to eat in some occasions with strong acidity and high chloride ion concentration. S32760 upgraded the ratio of chromium, molybdenum and nickel, and added extra tungsten and copper. The ingredients thus prepared are more stable in seawater, sulfide-containing media, or acid chloride solutions.
